BRAZIL - Brazilian agricultural exports reached $6.77 billion in December and between January and December last year the value of exports was was $96.75 billion.
The December exports represent an increase of 5.9 per cent on the same month in 2013, when $6.39 billion worth of exports were recorded.
According to a statement from the Secretary of Ministry of Agriculture of International Relations, Livestock and Supply, vegetable products were the main contributors for the income growth.
In December last year, foreign sales were led by the meat industry, which totalled $1.46 billion, a 3.8 per cent increase in export value.
Chicken was the most exported item, with $653 million, an increase of 5.9 per cent.
Beef acme second with exports totalling $636 million, up 2.9 per cent.
Pork came third, growing by 5.3%, with $105 million in revenue.
