RUSSIA - Russian veterinary authorities have blocked the import of a shipment of 17 tonnes of poultry meat from Belarus.
The shipment of frozen products came from the Skidelsky processing plant.
However, on inspection the Russian authorities found that some of the products were produced during the temporary restrictions on imports from Belarus.
Rosselkhoznador said that the products showed that they had not been processed correctly and they have been held for further inspection.
Rosselkhoznador inspectors also have also seized a consignment of 30,000 eggs from Belarus that entered the Orel region of Russia with incorrect documentation.
The veterinary certificates and labels did not have the necessary information about the producers and the vets in Belarus had not realised that the company that the eggs were being exported to, OmegaProdukt, is not a recognised importing company in Russia.
The eggs were returned to Belarus.
