VIET NAM - The Vietnamese government has delayed the introduction of new regulations on ice glazing of pangasius untiol next year.
The new regulation on ice glazing of 10 per cent and 83 per cent humidity on exported pangasius products was due to be introduced on 1 January under Decree of No. 36.
Previously, some pangasius exporters in An Giang Province have filed a petition to the government asking to delay the effective date of the decree by a year, reports VASEP.
Seafood businesses say they acknowledge that the new rule is intended to increase the quality of Vietnamese pangasius exports, but it should have been implemented in a pilot scheme to measure the market reaction before being officially put into effect.
