New Managing Director For Marel Fish02 May 2014
ICELAND - Marel has appointed Sigurdur Olason Managing Director of the Fish Industry Centre.
He will become a member of Marel’s Executive Team and report directly to Arni Oddur Thordarson, CEO of Marel.
Mr Olason (pictured) will be succeeding Jon Birgir Gunnarsson, who is leaving the company.
Sigurdur Olason is 41 years old and has extensive, international experience within the seafood industry.
He is familiar with Marel as he worked in Marel’s product development between the years 2001 to 2006.
During the last six years he was Manager of Business Development with Samherji, one of Icelands´s leading seafood companies, and related companies.
Mr Olason has an MBA degree from the Brisbane Graduate School of business, a B.Sc. degree in computer science and a B.Sc degree in engineering from the University of Iceland.
