RUSSIA – Products from Polish milk processing union Mlekovita have been blocked by Russian authorities due to a discovery of coliform bacteria.
National food safety surveillance organisation Rosselkhoznadzor imposed the ruling on 17 April which extends to all products at the plant, including cheese, whey and milk powder.
The safety of Mlekovita has been reassured by company president Dariusz Sapinski who denies bacterial contamination, according to reports in dairy news Russia.
The ban comes 15 days after a previous dairy blockade on another Polish company – Mleczarsk based cooperative ROTR.
