26 March 2014

US - US meat processor Ohio Packing Company is to close down and sell all its brands to Blue Grass Quality Meats.

The move to sell off the company’s brands is expected to be completed by 14 April.

Ohio Packing Company based in Columbus Ohio was established over 100m years ago in 1907.

The Wilke Family Blue Grass Quality Meats based in Crescent Springs, Kentucky, will acquire the Harvest Brand, Family Brand and Serv-Mor.

The company said that each of the brands comes with a great reputation and strong sales history in their trade areas.

“Both companies are working closely together, through a transitional period, to assure products are made true to their time honoured recipes and that existing customers are serviced with excellence.

“It is our goal to build each of these brands to their fullest potential in the future. We see these brands as relevant to their marketplace and a strategic advantage to expanding our current geographic footprint.”
