Malta's Plans to Export Pork Put on Back Burner20 March 2014
MALTA - A crash in market prices has led to possible deals for the export of pork being negotiated by the Maltese government to fall through.
According to The Malta Independent, though it is hard to believe that business is actually done in this way, Minister Leo Brincat told Opposition MP Censu Galea that Maltese ambassadors were trying to strike a deal in various countries.
However "although interest was shown, international developments in the last weeks caused a drop in prices on the international market and therefore, at present, it does not seem that any exportations may materialise."
