AgriFood ATP launches Meat Science Course06 February 2014
UK - Meat industry professionals looking to improve their knowledge and understanding of meat science and quality now have a new opportunity to study online and then choose from up to nine optional specialised training days to suit their interest and area of specialism.
The courses are delivered at the University of Nottingham as part of the AgriFood Advanced Training Partnership and have been developed in conjunction with EBLEX, who will be helping to deliver some of the specialised training material.
Training days feature a blend of practical and lecture-based materials and include sessions on meat quality attributes, animal production, animal genetics and the use of new technologies, meat safety and zoonosis.
The course offers very flexible options allowing people to study the e-learning material at their own pace for up to ten weeks before the training days begin. If participants wish to gain university credits, they can choose to take either four training days to gain 10 credits or eight days to gain 20 credits. These can then be put forward to a higher qualification in AgriFood.
