Allanasons to Build Meat Plant in Ethiopia06 January 2014
ETHIOPIA - Indian buffalo meat producer and exporter, Allanasons is to build a meat processing plant in Ethiopia.
The major Indian exporter of processed food products, signed an agreement for the project with the Ministry of Industry, according to a report from the Walta Information Center.
The agreement was signed in Addis Ababa on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 by, and Aman R. Kahan, representative of Allanasons Ltd.
Meberatu Melese, Industry State Minister said the plant would help to improve Ethiopia’s meat exports and enable the agricultural community to benefit from its animal resources as well as the leather industry.
The plant is expected to be built on a 75 hectare site at Zeway, Oromia Regional State at a cost of 371 million birr and will create employment opportunities for the local community.
