Ukraine Agricultural Output Rising24 December 2013
UKRAINE – Agricultural production in Ukraine has risen by 18.4 per cent in the first 11 months of 2013, worth $250 billion.
Ministry of agriculture estimates show both arable and livestock production is higher, with an overall annual forecast predicting a 12 per cent output lift on 2012.
Cropping yield rose over seven per cent, with livestock production almost two per cent higher.
"One of the key objectives of the Agriculture Ministry is increasing of the volume of agricultural households. This contributes to both food security and increase incomes of individual farmers,” said Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, agriculture minister.
