JBS Charcuterie Producer Cuts Jobs21 November 2013
ITALY - Italian cold cut producer Rigamonti Salumificio is to cut 104 jobs out of 263 at its plants in Montagna, Poggiridenti and Mazzo in the province of Sondrio.
According to the company, the reorganisation plan is mainly due to the drop in the sales volume in the recent years.
The trade unions reacted to the company’s decision by going on strike and requiring some meetings with the company in order to know more details on the business plan.
Rigamonti Salumificio has been a part of the Brazilian multinational food processing group JBS since 2011.
The company produces delicatessen products such as bresaola, carpaccio, speck and pancetta.
