THE NETHERLANDS - World animal agribusiness expo, VIV Europe 2014, is underlining its major focus on poultry meat and eggs in May 2014 by planning a menu of technical programmes with the help of two of the avian sector’s global associations.

VIV Europe 2014 returns to the city of Utrecht in The Netherlands from Tuesday 20 May to Thursday 22 May 2014. Its organisers have now revealed that the world associations will back strongly poultry-oriented themes for conferences in its show-time agenda.

“On the Tuesday of the event, there will be a conference on international poultry production that is being arranged for us by the World’s Poultry Science Association,” reports exhibition manager Ruwan Berculo. “It will include highly topical remarks about sustainable intensification versus organic produce as well as reviewing the latest production practices.

“But I am also pleased to announce that our VIV Animal Health Summit for executives in the chain from feed to meat and eggs will consist of a plenary conference by the World Veterinary Poultry Association, the organisation for poultry veterinarians. It plans a morning session of seminars by exhibitors on specific health issues in poultry and the WVPA afternoon plenary Conference with the title ‘Emerging Avian Health Threats’”.

“We have already said that the menu for VIV Europe 2014 will feature a Poultry Master Class series of workshops presented by exhibitors in an interactive setting at the Exhibition. Then there is the MeatTech segment devoted to poultry meat processing, packaging, labelling and marketing.

“Add these to the technical conferences, the Dutch Excellence field visits available before the show opens and the innovations and networking opportunities offered by the exhibition, and you have a full week of opportunities for the leaders of the world’s poultry industries to update their knowledge as well as refreshing their business contacts,” Mr Berculo said.
