Pilgrim’s Pride to Close Arkansas Plant22 August 2013
US - Pilgrim’s Pride is to close a poultry processing plant in Batesville, Arkansas, with the loss of 400 jobs.
According to a report on KAIT Region 8 News, the closure is part of a consolidation of operations by Pilgrim’s Pride, which is part of the giant Brazilian processor JBS.
Production is expected to stp in about 60 days.
The report says that the processor is in negotiations with Ozark Mountain Poultry in Rogers, Arkansas, to buy the operation.
