Ukraine Tightens Poultry Meat Inspections22 August 2013
UKRAINE - Authorities in Ukraine have stepped up food safety checks on enterprises dealing in poultry meat production in a bid to restore the export trade to Kazakhstan.
Currently, the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service of Ukraine has suspended exports of poultry products from JSC Poultry Myronivska to Kazakhstan. There is to be an investigation to determine the circumstances.
Additionally, checks will be carried out because of concerns that during transportation or customs clearance packages could be have been broken but still delivered or variation in temperatures during transport through Kazakhstan could see products affected.
Ukraine is passing strict veterinary and phytosanitary control on all products that are being exported.
Controls are also being tightened on two othr companies - Agromars Exim and Taurus Plus.
