African Swine Fever in Yaroslavl and Smolensk06 August 2013
RUSSIA - Test on samples taken from wild boar found dead near the villaged of Titov in the Borislobegsky region of Yaraslavl and also in the Novoduginsky region of Smolensk have confirmed further incidents of African Swine Fever.
Currently these regions are the focus for specialists from the state veterinary authorities and priority control measures have been put in place.
Prior to these two cases there have been cases reported in 14 different areas both among wild boar and domestic pigs this year. These include cases in North Ossetia-Alania, Voronezh, Rostov, Volgograd, Tver, Tambov, Saratov, Belgorod, Smolensk, Moscow, Pskov, Yaroslavl, Tula and Krasnodar
