Russia to Reopen Market to Spanish Meat06 August 2013
SPAIN - Spain could soon be exporting meat, dairy and egg products to Russia again following a ban put in place in March this year.
The move follows talks between the head of Rosselkhoznador , the Russian veterinary agency, Sergey Dankvert and Spain’s deputy agriculture minister Isabel Garcia Tejerina last month.
The market will reopen following inspections of the processing plants that are to be authorised for export and a new round of inspections is due to start on 9 September.
Russia had banned exports of meat products because of concerns raised over the surveillance systems in Spain.
The market is expected to reopen for approved companies in September.
