Beef Cuts Prices Slump Through Early June17 June 2013
BRAZIL - Meat on the bone is enduring marginal price increases through early June despite the short supply of fat animals and healthy meat demand, according to the Centre of Advanced Studies on Applied Economics.
This continued May’s trend and had select cuts 4.5 per cent cheaper last month, on average.
Compared to April, the average beef price was 3 per cent lower with carcasses at $6.30 reals per kilo.
This is causing problems for packers and wholesalers who are monitoring the pace of cattle through the production system to predict short term supply dynamics.
