China Approves New Zealand Meat30 May 2013
NEW ZEALAND - Chinese authorities have cleared certificates for New Zealand meat, causing huge relief to the industry.
Bruce Wills, Federated Farmers of New Zealand trade spokesperson and President, said that access to the Chinese market depends on rigorous paper work.
He commended the Ministry of Primary Industries for striving to satisfy the Chinese market and said the adage, 'the customer is always right' was worthwhile keeping in mind.
“We can once again ‘meat’ the Chinese market so this news is a huge, huge relief,” said Mr Wills.
"On top of everything else this year we seem to have forgotten that the customer is always right. We have been badly caught out imposing what we think is right, instead of listening to what our customers actually want from us."
This turned out to be safe, wholesome and nutritious food backed by 'rock solid' paperwork, he added.
