IPPE - Tyson Wins Community Service Award01 February 2013
US - US meat and poultry processing giant Tyson Foods has been awarded the American Meat Institute's award C. Jones Community Service Award during the International Production and Processing Exposition in Atlanta.
The award, named after former AMI Board member Edward C. Jones of Jones Dairy Farm, was presented to Tyson for the company's work in hunger and disaster relief.
Last year Tyson expanded its work with the launch of the Meals that Matter disaster relief programme, which included a special mobile feeding unit.
The trailer serves as a supply unit for disaster relief in the US and was used during the Hurricane Sandy disaster.
