Russia Bans Products from Risk Plants

RUSSIA - The Russian veterinary authority, Rosselkhoznador, has imposed temporary import restrictions on the Czech poultry processor, RABBIT Trhový Štepánov a.s.- provozovna Jevícko after listeria was cfound in a consignment of poultry meat.

The Czech establishment numbered CZ 1070 was already under enhanced laboratory control.

Rosselkhoznador said that laboratory test results found Coliform bacteria in frozen beef imported from a Tyson Fresh Meats plant, Salmonella in frozen beef consignment imported from a plant of the Brazilian processor JBS S/A, mesophyll aerobic and optional-anaerobic microorganisms in a frozen pork consignment imported from a plant of the American company Koch Foods of Mississippi, Coliform bacteria in frozen pork imported from the Danish company Tican Fresh Meat A/S, Coliform bacteria in a frozen sprat consignment imported from the Finnish company Länsi-Rannikon Kala Oy, which is also under enhanced laboratory control, Coliform bacteria in chilled beef imported from Ukrainian company CJSC Agroproduct, Coliform bacteria and mesophyll aerobic and optional-anaerobic microorganisms in frozen cooked shrimps imported from the Bangladesh establishment APEX FOODS LTD, Salmonella in frozen pork consignment imported from a German plant of VION Emstek GmbH, Salmonella and Listeria in poultry meet consignment imported from the Ukrainian establishment LLC “Large poultry farm Dneprovsy”, which is under enhanced laboratory control.

As well as imposing restrictions on the Czech company, Rosselkhoznador also put in place restrictions on the Finnish establishment F83351 and the Ukrainian plant LLC “Large poultry farm Dneprovsy”.

The Rosselkhoznadzor has also warned the National Veterinary Services of Brazil about the problems at the JBS plant dn has issued warnings to the otehr plants about noncompliance of imported products with the Russian and CU standards and requirements.

The veterinary authority has called for an enhanced control of the products from these establishments.

The authority said that diplomatic representatives of these countries will be officially informed by the Rosselkhoznadzor about the decisions in due course.
