Print This Page Poultry Production Outlook for 2012 Looking Positive
RUSSIA - The outlook for Russian poultry production in 2012 remains positive but less so than six months ago.
Production is being supported by domestic backing and high but stable producer prices.
Broiler meat exports remain virtually non-existent in spite of continued statements from senior cabinet officials that Russia will offer 200,000-250,000 metric tonnes for export in 2012.
According to the USDA's Poultry & Products Semi-annual report, broiler consumption is forecast to fare well in 2012.
Better access to imports keeps poultry retail prices growing less rapidly than the rest of the consumer basket.
