Russia Approves Spanish Processing Plants

RUSSIA - The Russian meat inspection service Rosselkhoznador has confirmed the status of two pig meat export plants in Spain following inspections in June.

Rosselkhoznador has also added two more pork processing plants and one beef processing plant to the approved list.

Rosselkhoznadzor’s specialists carried out an inspection at plants producing products of animal origin jointly with the representatives of the Veterinary Service of Spain in June.

Import of products from two meat-processing plants in Spain where violations of the Russian requirements were detected in the course of the inspection have been temporarily restricted starting from 20 September.

Import of meat from three Spanish meat-processing plants to the Russian Federation was banned by the same reason.
