ANUGA REPORT - Suppliers Flock to Food Fair
This year the exhibition has Turkey as its partner country and has placed a focus on Halal, Kosher and religious influences in products.
In all 84 per cent of the exhibitors at the exhibition - claimed to be the largest food exhibition in the world - come from outside of Germany.
"This outstanding exhibitor turnout for Anuga 2009 confirms that a well-conceived, market oriented trade fair concept attracts participants even at times when each individual marketing measure is closely scrutinised by companies," said Gerald Böse, chief executive of Koelnmesse, the exhibition organisers.
Oliver Kuhrt, executive vice president of Koelnmesse added: "The food sector, which is one of the most important economic sectors, has proved to be stable in the face of crisis, as it has so often in the past."
